L, D

Day 2

Northam - Kalgoorlie
Following breakfast, traverse the Great Eastern Highway through Meckering, a town made famous by its earthquake in October 1968. Continue on through the wheat belt with its vistas of small towns, farm lands, granite rock outcrops and scenic hills, keeping an eye out for wildflowers along the roadside. Stop for lunch along the way before arriving into Coolgardie which is the original site of Western Australia's goldrush of the 1890s. Continue on to Kalgoorlie, settling into our accommodation for the next two nights.

B, L, D

Day 3

Kalgoorlie - Hannans North Tourist Mine
Discover Kalgoorlie's rich gold rush history at the Hannahs North Tourist Mine, the region's largest open-air museum. Explore more than 30 fascinating exhibits, wander through restored 1920s buildings, try your luck at gold panning, and climb aboard massive mining machines including a 793C haul truck and 994 wheel loader. Enjoy some free time to browse the shops and purchase your own lunch, and see Hammond Park with animals and birds surrounding the miniature Bavarian Castle built from local gemstones. Return to our accommodation with time to freshen up before dinner.

B, D

Day 4

Kalgoorlie - Esperance

Day 5

Recherche Archipelago - Esperance
Today we cruise from Esperance through the Recherche Archipelago. The region is known as the Bay of Islands with a collection of 110 islands within the area. It is renowned as a haven for marine life and, if you are lucky, you might see fur seals, dolphins and, perhaps even a Southern Right Whale. After disembarking, purchase your own lunch before our visit to the Esperance Stonehenge, a full sized replica of the original Stonehenge in UK, as it would have looked around 1950BC.

B, D

Day 6

Esperance - Balladonia
After farewelling this beautiful part of Australia, travel north to our lunch stop in Norseman. According to legend, the town was named after a horse 'Hardy Norseman'. Visit the bronze statue that stands proudly in recognition of the part the horse played in establishing the town. Following lunch, continue on to Balladonia where you can visit the local cultural heritage museum before checking in for our overnight stay.

B, L, D

Day 7

Balladonia - Border Village
Continue along the Eyre Highway to Caiguna which features one of the longest known straight stretches of highway. The Nullarbor Plain is the world's largest single exposure of limestone bedrock and occupies an area of about 200,000 square kilometres. At its widest point, it stretches about 1,100 kilometres from east to west. Continue on through Cocklebiddy, Madura and Mundrabilla enroute to Eucla where the Telegraph Station is located; partly buried in sand. Tonight, stay overnight in Border Village, positioned directly on the border between Western Australia and South Australia.

B, L, D

Day 8

Border Village - Ceduna
Today we'll take in the spectacular views of the Southern Ocean from the lookouts as we travel along the Great Australian Bight. B, L, D

Day 10

Port Augusta - Glenelg
Follow the eastern side of the Spencer Gulf through Port Germein to Port Pirie, where we'll see late 19th and early 20th century heritage buildings which tell the stories of Port Pirie's people and its industries including smelting, railway and shipping.
