Day 1
Home - Mittagong
Our tour departs The Hunter with our New South Wales passengers, before arriving at Sydney Airport where our Queensland passengers will join. Once all onboard, we make our way to the charming township of Bowral. Enjoy free time to purchase your own lunch, before visiting Corbett Gardens for the spectacular annual Bowral Tulip Time Festival. Later, stop at Centennial Vineyards, a renowned cool-climate vineyard offering the opportunity to sample some of their speciality wines. We also take in the beauty of Cherry Tree Walk and the poignant Vietnam War Memorial before settling into our accommodation.
Day 2
Mittagong - Canberra
Our day begins with a visit to Leighton Gardens in Moss Vale where the gardens will be bursting with spring colour. Take some time to purchase your own morning tea and to admire the towns heritage landscape. Continue on to Red Cow Farm Garden where the 1820's cottage is surrounded by an abundant cottage garden of roses and perennials. We then farewell the Southern Highlands, stopping in Goulburn for lunch before an afternoon visit to Australia's Top Small Town for 2025 - Bungendore. Continue on to Canberra to settle in for the next three nights.
Day 3
Canberra Floriade
Discover some of Canberra's iconic attractions during this delightful day of touring. Begin with a visit to the fascinating Royal Australian Mint, where you'll learn how Australia's coins are produced during a guided tour. Next visit the stunning National Arboretum offering some of Canberra's best panoramic views, for a guided tour to hear about the rare and endangered trees being grown and conserved here. We then make our way to Commonwealth Park where Floriade will be in full swing. Take time to purchase your own lunch while taking in the breathtaking landscapes of vibrant colours and millions of flowers in peak bloom. This afternoon, discover the stories of Australia's history and culture on display at the iconic National Museum of Australia, followed by a drive to the top of Mount Ainslie Lookout, offering a birds eye view of the unique design of Canberra's perfectly aligned landmarks.
Day 4
Canberra
After breakfast, explore the impressive High Commission residences and their beautifully landscaped grounds before visiting the National Capital Exhibition to uncover the fascinating story behind Canberra's design and development. After a delicious buffet lunch, spend the afternoon at the Australian War Memorial, where you can explore moving galleries, memorials, military displays, and attend the memorable Last Post Ceremony before returning to our motel for dinner.
Day 5
Canberra - Home
This morning, bid farewell to Canberra with one final enchanting stop at Tulip Top Gardens. Relax amongst the vibrant spring display of tulips, daffodils, and blossoms painting the landscape in a myriad of colours. We then make our way towards Sydney, stopping for lunch along the way. On arrival at Sydney Airport, we will farewell our Queensland friends as they check in for their flight home, before our coach continues back to The Hunter, completing a lovely Spring break away.
